As your
new Emmaus Community Lay Director for 2012, I want to thank Deanna Plummer for
her leadership as the Emmaus Community Lay Director for 2011. Thank you for your
time, dedication and love for the Lord. Thanks to our outgoing board members as
well for their time, dedication and love of the Lord as well. I also want to welcome our new board members for 2012 as you
can see their names on the website.
It’s
hard to believe the new year is here and the spring walks are just around the
corner. I know this is a hectic time
for the Spring Lay Directors as they prepare for their formations and walk.
Let’s keep them in our prayers as this time moves so very fast. I know each
one of them are continuing to ask the Lord to lead and guide them through this
journey. As we know, the advisory will try to stop the progress of the Lords
work. But as 1 John 4:4 says: “You are from God little children and have
overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the
world.” God prevails!!!
Our time
spent as fourth day is a very critical time these days. Our prayers are needed
for each other in so many different ways. Your dedication to prayer, helping
with the walks in any capacity and much more is so appreciated by all of us, but
most importantly we are working for the Lord. We must all continue to seek HIM
and allow others to see HIM through us. As you see the pilgrims and team members
names on the web page, stop and pray for them.
Thank you
my brothers and sisters. There is so much Love within the fourth day and it is
so heartwarming that I/we can always call upon any of us in time of need. Thank
you for your willingness and dedication to the Lord. God is so GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m
Alive because HE Lives in Me

Men’s
Walk #44 will be held March 8 – 11. The scripture for the walk is 1 Peter
4:11a: “If anyone serves, they should
do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised
through Jesus Christ.” Based on that scripture the theme will be “Serve
Him”
The
heads that God has called to serve on this walk are:
Assistant Lay Director – Brian Hemmerlein
Head Spiritual Director – Keith Meece
Co-Liturgists – Steve Hart and Jay
Singleton
Head Cook – Dale Brown (812-639-1674)
Head Steward – Marc Flaningam
(812-698-2672)
Head Warden – Eric Lane (812-787-0065)
Head Weekend Helper – Damon Fair
Head Agape – Randy Langebrake
Head Musician – Chris Abell
The
first heads meeting was held earlier this month and the Holy Spirit was there to
guide us. We all agreed we must “Serve Him” by serving the pilgrims that
will come to the campground. The
Emmaus experience has taught us we glorify God when we humble ourselves and
serve others.
The
calling of this team has been an awesome, exciting and humbling experience.
Being able to speak with each of the team and hear the excitement in your voice
as you said “Yes” to God was such an honor.
Our
formations start on January 30th at Salem United Church of Christ in
Huntingburg. We ask for your
prayers and support as we prepare. Any
donations to help our cooks, wardens and stewards would be appreciated.
Their numbers are listed above.
God Bless you all. Let’s all “Serve Him” to bring glory to God.

Dear Fourth Day,
With a humble and
grateful heart I would like to thank God and also to thank you for allowing me
this opportunity to help carry out His plan
for Walk 44. I have been blessed!
The theme for Walk 44 is “you are God” based on the scripture from
Psalm 62:1-2.
“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone
is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
I know in my life in all the ups and downs that I only can rest in God
alone; in his arms, in his word, and in seeking his presence. I thank God that
team 44 is standing on the rock of his salvation and that he is our fortress and
we will not be shaken because of HIM. My prayer for the pilgrims of Walk 44 (and
for us all) is that we will rest in God alone each and everyday.
Even when we are among unknown people and surroundings, God never
abandons us. A “higher” rock would be a plain of refuge & safety.
God’s all surpassing strength is always with us!
Team 44 “heads” met January 12th and it was an amazing
time of fellowship and prayer. I was truly blessed by these loving and obedient
women of GOD! Formations will begin February 2nd at Bethany Christian Church in
Montgomery and I cannot wait to meet the rest of God’s team!

If you are planning to make table or bed agape, we are asking that you
only make enough for the pilgrims (45). We know that the Emmaus community loves
us and that you are all in prayer for this walk and we feel blessed by simply
getting to serve on this team!
When I think about Emmaus, there are two things that come to mind. First,
Emmaus is the only place where we find great JOY in taking out the trash and
cleaning up after others! Secondly, where else would you be “thrown
together” with people from different towns, of different ages, different
denominations, races and personalities and all you want to do is hug them, serve
them and LOVE them! It is a love that can only come from God!
I encourage you to show this awesome agape love to the pilgrims of Walk
44. We welcome your presence by serving meals, sending bed/table/green agape,
and attending Candlelight and Closing. But most importantly, by praying for God
to be glorified!

Women’s
Walk 44A will be held on March 22-25, 2011. The theme for the weekend is
“Unveiled Faces” and the scripture is 2 Corinthians 3:18 “-
And
we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness
with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” The
song is Show Me Your Glory by Third Day.

Thank
you in advance for all of your support and prayers.
Without the Fourth Day this weekend wouldn’t be complete! We would
appreciate any kind of agape that you can provide. Please contact Sandy Croslow
(812-291-0728 or sandy@croslow.com) for
donations of food or green agape. We ask that you only provide enough table
agape for the pilgrims (45 pieces of
agape). Please contact Emily Bobe (812-882-3400 or emobobe@yahoo.com)
if you have any questions. I am so excited to see God’s love lavished all over
the beautiful pilgrims.
The team
formations will begin February 13th at Mariah Creek Church. God’s
hand is at work already throughout this team. He has called people with a sold
out passion to serve our Lord. He
is molding and shaping this team to reflect His image. We are standing together
as His body ready to serve our King and watch the pilgrims be transformed into
His image and reflect His Glory!!
With
much Love and Blessings, Team 44A

* new exit doors
WOULD YOU PROVIDE A GIFT TO HELP PAY FOR THESE IMPROVEMENTS?
